Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

It is so funny to think that back in the day these sonnets Shakespeare wrote were for money.  I guess you could say they were the Hallmark cards of the 17th century...well as far as Shakespeare's sonnets were concerned anyways.  People would pay him to write these sonnests for loved ones, and so it just makes me wonder about the people these sonnets were given to.  What was their story?  It's kind of crazy!!  Out of the 154 sonnets Uncle Bill here wrote, not including the ones in his plays I believe #116 to be his greatest work.

As we all know I am a HUGE Shakespeare nut!  I think he was completely brilliant.  I read his plays over and over again just for fun, and I'm still just as entertained as when I read them the first time.  I pick up new things everytime I read his work, and sometimes I envy how romantic and clever he was.  I wish I had a talent like that, but I guess with the talents I was blessed with I do have the ability to bring his brilliant pieces of work to life....afterall, Bill's work was meant to be acted, not read.

Now back to this sonnet.  What amazes me is how utterly romantic it is, yet the strong truth behind what love should really be as far as two people are concerned.

sighhhhh...

Just Like Heaven

so the title of this has nothing to do with this blog entry exactly, just the song I woke up singing this morning.  I talked to a friend last night about a situation I was in and she had given the advice to another friend the 6 months was a good amount of time...

What I do know, is that if things work itself out and that's how long it takes, then hopefully I will be getting the best belated birthday present I've ever gotten....

THE END.
p.s. I don't expect anyone to understand this....just needed to get it off my chest.  A new more understandable blog entry will be coming later today.

Oh and another thing....only 3 more days!!!
